Heritage Specialty Papers
Explore Chinese specialty papers for calligraphy and ink painting, including mulberry bark paper, jute and hemp blends, wax-dyed Xuan paper and decorative paper rolls. Discover distinctive fibre textures, antique tones and traditional motifs for Chinese brushwork.
Choose mulberry paper, also known as Kozo or Chupi, and semi-sized fibre blends for calligraphy, freehand ink painting and selected Sumi-e techniques. Wax-dyed floral motifs and imitation silk-patterned papers add decorative character, while selected sized surfaces suit controlled brushwork and light-colour gongbi studies. Imitation silk-patterned paper is paper, not woven silk.
Available in sheets and rolls. Check each product's sizing and intended use, and test ink dilution and brush moisture on an offcut before starting.
